as for the dollar amount of WWII compared to Iraq without taking inflation into account is useless.

OK, Balance my boy, the figures I gave were adjusted for inflation.Secondly, you want to win in Iraq? My solution: More troops in the field. Period. The Powell Doctrine was Go in with overwhelming force, go in with clear goals. OK, so we screwed that up - here's the answer - institute the draft and put more American boys on the ground to win THE central war on terror. there's my answer.
