Doesn;t matter if you like it. It's been branded and jammed into the pop culture conciousness brilliantly. We're pitching podcast production to a bunch of brands right now and they are foaming at the mouth for it.
You mention broacasting over mobile technology to people they don't know what you're talking about. You mention podcasting they know exactly what you mean.
Then they go and buy an iPod. Ingenious.
