as hyphy as supreme is, its still not like bape - a company that rides the wave of the same ape, milo, etc logos and neons.
if anything, i'll give supreme more credit for employing some of the best designers doing graphics and continually delivering solid, well-made products for reasonable prices (at retail). it's definitely arose as the most prolific cool guy brand and it put downtown and its attitude on the map, but has remained solid and hasn't turned into a paordy of itself like bape. you know nigo things to himself "i wonder how much i can price this at and still sell." even though supreme fetches the same amount in the sneaker and reseller game, ts roots are in something stronger than cartoon harajuku street style.
if bape gets an award, its for moving units on the same logo and product year after year. nigo is a salesman and he's sittin pretty in the bank. bape is the dude hello kitty now. it exploded and its falling out.
