MTV was always terrible for the whole music industry. From day 1, it was like a top 40 radio station with no chance for anyone but the ultrafamous, ultrahot or ultra useless. I suppose if all you want is Madonna or Michael Jackson, you'd be fine.
This was also a total downturn for the music industry because of a new focus on t and a, choreography and all priorities before music.
God damn MTV and what it did to music. Look at them, they don't even PLAY music anymore. I won't even comment on what they have now.
