son,
I'm going to say this once, because you remind me of a few people I have come across, in a positive way
On the positive side, I think you do have some talent there, somewhere. And you got moxy, you got the hustle and the confidence. That's awesome. That's the stuff that will be there when the well runs dry or the walls crumble around you and you gotta to that next, last step. You want that moxy in your gas tank, you know what I mean.
But..but..for what you are producing, especially on the design side..man, it's subpar at worst, a work in progress at best. I mean I had a close friend once, came from the streets, had some hard times himself. And he was in your same boat - he needed that ego to survive where he came from, but that ego also got in his way in acquiring and APPLYING new knowledge, and taking criticism as an attack. Therefore he only progressed so far with what he was trying to do.
there's a fine line between creating something cutting edge, and something that just doesn't hit the fundamentals. You don't seem to have a grasp of some very fundamental stuff in the design sphere. You gotta know the rules before you break em, you know...
Like, to be specific, you create these sites of an image of text all scrunched up so it's illegible..I mean, I get the design aesthetic you're reaching for, but it's still not communicating..you're appropriating the form with what seems to me little idea of how to communicate it effectively.
Maybe it works in your sphere...maybe the community that is your target "gets" it, but I'm not sure..
A little knowledge is bad, a little knowledge applied badly is even worse, especially when coupled with an attitude that is not open to criticism. Any criticism at PVN I think, as you do throw your stuff up for critique, really is about how to make what you're doing more effective in getting your point across...
There is confidence in humilty as well...
Hope I communicated that correctly so you can heed what I'm saying...
