this could be down to many many factors, you may have a shite monitor etc. etc. I just did a wee test in my avid and she works very well indeed on black however this may be due to my having broadcast monitors.
Just double check all your settings and if they are fully tip top quality you should have little or no problems when it comes to final output.
Whats the situation is the text animating or static?.
