My current favorite scene from The Office is when David asks Gareth to role play for a minute - as an example of how he's going to handle audience questions - and when David asks him his name, Gareth says Leroy. David gets mad, asks why he chose a ridiculous name like Leroy, and Gareth says, "You know, the colored guy from Fame."
The fact that anybody remembers, let alone references, Fame just kills me for some reason, let alone the fact that someone would still use "colored".
Must one apologize if they're digressing in their own thread? Probably not.
