If it's August you are thinking of coming over then i'd reccomend Edinburgh. during aug theres allsorts of festivals on throughout the city including the world famous fringe festival.
the town is PACKED with tourists through the month so book pronto.

http://www.edinburgh.org/events/…its a well hot summer over here at the moment and one of my mates is just back with his gf after being up north for a couple of weeks. said weather was amazing. nice sights up north.
go see if you can spot the Loch Ness Monster ;)
