  I have lived there and am living right outside of there right now in an awesome town called Hood River.
  Number 1 outdoor life city in the nation.

  Portland is an awesome town. One of my faves, and actually has one of the largest progressive young populations. Big scene. The area is beautiful, the downtown is great, and the people are nice and the area is clean. Close the mountains, close to the beaches... great all around.
