calgary is no edmonton.
first of all, and most importantly, the oilers are a far superior team to the flames. who wants to live somewhere with a shite hockey team?
ok, so maybe thats not too important to some (but it should be)... on a more serious note:
ive worked in both... edmonton has a more thriving art community in my humble opinion, but ive always thought ACAD was quite decent and respected. am i wrong?
calgary is closer to the mountains, and thats a big plus. jasper is cooler than banff, IMHO, but theres a lot more ski hills near banff.
i found calgary pretty bogged down with commerce/accountant types... a little soulless if you will. i didnt notice a heck of a lot of community spirit when i was there either. ofcourse, i didnt spend much time there either, so i might not have benn privy to that scene.
edmonton has a better night life, and cooler places to drink too. while its my job to slag calgary, as an edmontonian, i have done some extensive research in this area.
