I hear you ant, and I respect that interpretation of the Bible..but again, I don't believe it. And I don't think you need a belief in a spiritual afterlife to make a religion live or dead. Jesus Disciples believed in his words and what he said, and found the resonance of truth in them years before they apparently saw him rise fomr the dead. Why word the words and meanings he expressed before he died have more meaning after?

I always felt that Jesus really literally meant that the Kingdom of Heaven WAS here, now..stop waiting around for it. It's your for the asking at every moment of your life...lillies of the field and all that. The whole focus on his resurrection to me seems more the fulfillment of Jewish mystical beliefs tied in with certain dionystic beliefs common in the medeterramiam at the time.

Does the death and resurection of Jesus, literally have anything to do with the example and moral outlook he set forth? I have frankly never seen the connection...if you need ot believe that he died and was resurected more power to you, but I don't think it changes the depth and meaning of his words and example one iota.
