Try this:
Open a file in Illustrator, view it as Pixel Preview, set your stroke weight as pixels (in preferences), draw a black horizontal line at any length and apply a 1 pixel stroke weight, now zoom in and tell me what you see? Is it a 1 pixel perfect black line? or something that looks like a grey line 2 pixels high with antialiasing on both ends? The web works in pixels not vectors trying to be pixels.
