"O" in 3 are to represent zeros you would normally think of when hearing about programming, technology, etc. Plus it's the only vowel in the word "ontosoft" - which makes it to stand out even more.
No3 and 4, as I've already said, were declined by the client. He likes the direction, as in No.2, which I personally do find a bit generic. But I know how to play with it, if he tells me "do it". Damn, that could be my favourite job to do - to work with this identity - if not the stubborn client. :(
