this is important i think....on some newspaper sites, you can respond to articles, on others you can't..
also, a very good image gallery, if there are multiple images for a story...for example..the one at www.wired.com totally sucks ass...its horrible...
there are some very very good ones available now, i think they're done in java script, etc...
a map-mashup, showing where stories are taking place...to give a geographical perspective on an issue...ie, the current crisis in the middle east...where exaclty ARE hezbollah..where exactly IS that latest firebombing etc...
