In my opinion, when it comes to getting married, tradition is for the birds. I sent my invite out and basically told people to call or email with their RSVP. I even emailed the invite as a pdf to about 15 people. The last 4 weddings I attended, I never sent back the stupid RSVP slip in the cutesy envelope; I just emailed or called the groom or bride and told them I'd be there.
Seriously... hell, to me, marriage is pretty outdated. Yeah, I'm married, but I did that for my wife. I'd love her the same, ring or not. The material things (rings, cake, honeymoon) don't make the marriage, the people involved do. The best thing about my wedding is that 90% of the people that I wanted there actually showed up; and they had a blast as did I.
