You can't really care about the money too much. Unless you're the most popular designer on Prickie you won't be getting more than $20-$30 each month. I just thought the idea was interesting, but now everyone's doing it and I'm sure it'll turn into another Threadless. But whatever, so far it's not too bad and designs are not printed based on ratings like Threadless. You just submit a design and if yours is liked then people will buy it.
