  consider that ASP got a head start on PHP. During the first dotcom boom, ASP ruled the Earth.
  Probably a lot of legacy code that needs to be updated out there.

  Also, it is possibly that IT depts feel more comfortable with a Windows server, vs. linux. (not to say that PHP cant run on Windows or vice versa).

  And finally, ASP isnt that hard to learn. You might want to know both so that you can take which ever job you want.
