Try Viceroy on 3rd ave. They pour some mean drinks. The crowd is a pretty good mix. Personally I like the punk rock/bike messenger crowd of Shorty's for some beer and pinball.
There's also Suite 410 on 4th and Stewart I believe for another classy late night hangout. Small space, sometimes they have sports on their plasma above the bar which is annoying. But they pour some very interesting drinks (one of which I watched the bartender crack an egg white into). Room can be tight late night though.
There's a new place on 1st avenue call "The Apartment" which looks like a cool spot. Right smack in Belltown. Great for people watching I'm sure.
There's also Barça up on Capitol Hill. Great drinks, crowd seemed good the night I was there. Big booths if your chillin' with your boys or cuddling up with a girl.
