Do you have any idea of his budget?
I'd def go over £500 - but it also depends if you are doing stationery etc for him too and how much of it?
I supose it comes dwn to how much you need the work too. You could do it on the cheap and look at it as a lead tofurther work?
I sometimes offer to let the client pay over a few months. That way, you look like you're felxible and helpful and sympathise with how hard it is on the old finances when you start up...
