    yeah El Raval is not dodgy at all unless you are some kind of old lady, have a look up San Antoni to check out nasty whores at 10am (wtf?) check out the modern art gallery and wander south, there is a street with a bunch of vintage shops nearby and a shop to buy all you spray paint and markers ehehe, also there is a street on the other side of las ramblas called Avigno which has some trendy kinda shops if thats your bag. Also, I recommend a small restaurant in El Raval called Sesamo, really nice. The is a bar called Bar Ra which do the awesomest Mojito's. The cable car upto Montjuic is also worth a go.
