MySpace is the medium through which the actions took place. However, it's clearly the fault of the child and her parents especially, who should have taken her to the airport or wherever she was going, or could have at least called some of her friends' parents to make sure everything made sense. Even if you trust your kid (underage being a key issue in this case), you should be making sure they know better than to run off to another country to see a person they don't know.
