On a 36pg magazine I once experienced 2-3mm offset from first page to the middle pages, making my design inconsistant. The printer said they could not compensate for this in the output and can't do it in Quark or inDesign, so you have to drop the idea. But on a 2-8pg booklet don't think about it. But as a guideline keep vital data inside 2-3mm of the trim. Some printers are so stuffed with chemicals they can't see the difference so beware.
Soon we will be stuffed with that shit too Schjetne.
