i have a rep but havent started freelancing through her yet.

shes pretty awesome though and will basically go after any client i tell her i want. she'll do the networking, calling, contracts, etc for me.

i would be paid through her company so i dont have to worry about tax issues.

from what ive seen of projects of hers in the past everyone leaves happy.. the designer gets a good amount of money, she makes money, and the client gets a good product.

for the amount of work she has to do to get a project rolling and all smoothed out, its worth giving her the 15 percent

theres a lot of creative placement agencies that place for projects or full time.. but most of them like to be in the same city or state that youre in, though your client may not.

i dont know of any agencies in your area i can tell you about though. but im sure it wouldnt be that hard to find one. it would be better if you found one that is not just an internet service but actually has an office with human beings that you can meet with about projects when they come in.
