do the math...if a decent 2 hour movie needs to have some original story ideas then a 6 hour movie should have 3 times as many, but, fortunately, the Matrix lacks story, character, style and what it attempts to synthesize...'futurism'. When there is no hope or empathy for Keany Reeves than this does not work. LOTR is readily acknowledged to be based on the work of a pre-existing author and translates that world to your eyes. This works on the most basic of all levels. The Matrix is some wicked white technology sponging on your entire hobby universe
