Please. Please. Please. Help me understand. How is it that this amateur designer has managed to speak at events? This is just appaling to me and I am in hopes that some Prate fan can explain this to me.
My issues with her design is very simple and straight forward. She has abosultely no sense of kerning and no respect for type. Take a look at how she treats type. It is just not correct.
If you come at me with that she is an artist and not a perfectionist I would say this has nothing to do with being perfect it has to do with good vs. bad design.
I also have a HUGE problem with her mimicing Cina. She doesn't do a good job at it becuase Cina influences his designs off of math and wether patterns where Prate seems to think that the designs Cina does is just pretty so she copies. Fine to copy but at the very least pick up a FUCKING BOOK and LEARN about design! It just angers me that she manages to get into these positions to speak? OH GOD what is happening to this "community"?
