  I think, in a sense, this thread demonstrates how successful the Repubs are with their smoke and mirrors strategy. Everyone is so caught up in their own outrage (both sides) that the real issues get buried.

  absolutely, but I wouldn't call it smoke and mirrors. I'd call it intelligent politics, because it's obviously working
