rather centuries, if not millenia.
check history, gays have been prosecuted, stoned and oppressed since the beginning of history.
sexuality has always been part of hot debate.
for instance, socrates was an active pedophile, and most people don't even know this.
just to point out that sexual preference is NOT a novelty.
