when they ask about what kind of money you are looking for, say that you are open and flexible.
then when they make you an offer say you were thinking more in the ballpark of $5k more then you'll get about half that. but if you start at $10k, they'll laugh at you and withdraw the offer and extend it to someone else especially if you are just starting out and don't have any experience.
i was in a situation where i was offered a position at $55k in a city i didn't want to move to and i told them to relocate i wanted $70k they withdrew the offer and i didn't have to move.
point is make it worth your while and sell yourself short but don't price yourself out of the job.
