    the reason the USA and Mexico are so high is that it is based on results.

    So when the USA plays 10 matches to qualify for the World Cup they play Jamaica and Canada and Trinidad etc. They are in CONCAF, a very easy federation.

    Obviously Europe and S.America are harder 'pools' of countries so winning everytime is more difficult.

    I personally would put the USA at the same level of say a Norway or Scotland; Top 30 just.

    Mexico is in the same federation so that explains why they are up there too.
