this 'strong economy' is all very well if you are on the right side of it, but the class (now more economic than traditional notions of class) divide is becoming wider and wider.

The fact is the economy 'appears' 'strong' yet we have a relatively low standard of living in comparison to the workloads (NTers excepted), high living costs, education standards are terrible as is the NHS and numerous other services, we have the highest number of children living below the poverty line in Europe and you still think we are in some kind of golden age, seriously, just because your personal day to day living is fine, does not mean the world smells of roses. You are being manipulated.

And having the 'hip to be anti' mindset really does serve the ruling classes well, it feeds an apathy that perpetuates issues such as fair trade, globalisation, slave labour, eco-issues and many many more. Go ahead and call people hippies or idealists but the fact is, your mindest is one where as long as all is ok with you and your sky sports, then fuck it, all is ok, and in fact, that is far from the case.

Back to your Daily Mail sunny jim.
