Why is a humans life worth more? I mean really if you follow, supply on demand the earth is saturated with human life. So really our lifes rather worthless in comparasion to say, that giant wood pecker.

it acknowledges the fact that humans are the superior breed, like any other species would attempt to achieve.
but as we have a consciousness we'd rather not think of ourselves this way.
for the same reason we'd gladly look at the happy clinically clean ronald mcdonald face while we stuff ourselves with mcnuggets instead of realizing the process of delivering us these nuggets.
