  i'm a sucker for acronyms . . . also, it seems to me that we associate the brand name with how we feel about their product(s) . . for example, if i say 'microsoft' or 'wal-mart' it's hard to say objectively, 'those are good names for a company'.

  i find that companies with two names sound nice and for some reason 'professional'.

  ex:

  Harmon/Kardon
  Herman/Miller
  Alias/Wavefront
