    *sigh*

We're not the target audience, you dorks.

    It's for NORMAL PEOPLE.
We're a bunch of picky, finicky, anal retentive designer/techie types.
OBVIOUSLY this magical ad campaign isn't going to sway us. Ad compaigns DONT sway us. Facts and experiences do.

These are for the 'common man' just like ALL other advertisements.

Don't give me this "Apple is just selling on design and shit-talking, and that's bad" crap.

    That's what advertising IS.

It's showing, in simple digestible terms, these facts and what things ARE better about Macs.
I don't think anyone would argue that these ads aren't based on reality.

    THey're for two reasons:

    1. Informing the benefits about the product, what's "BETTER"

    2. They're funny.

As for Dinky - you're full of it.
It's quite obvious to me where they're targeting their sales: consumers, prosumers and professionals.

I don't know who made you the "product line industry placement" guru.
Apple's placed their products just fine.

All your BS about switching to Intel is bitterness or boredom. They switched because IBM bombed it with the G5 and became much more interested in making simple processors for Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony where they could have guaranteed sales and high profitability.

OF COURSE they said the G5 was faster. It was at some points in time, other points it was lagging behind - Apple wasn't gonna admit that in their marketing material. Come on.

I'd venture to say you're predisposed to dislike Ads that you don't get or aren't targetted towards you.
