Pardon my stupidity and foreign-ness, but what is this about? A whole group of people taking the day off, when their whole point is trying to prove they come he to work?

Neither the economy or any business that I know of was shut down.
The only things I heard reported being shut down was the garment district on the South side.
Btw... was anything even accomplished from yesterday?
