eh - the spending on this war IS outlandish and yes... plenty of other programs aren't getting the funding they need...
... but we must be intellectually honest too, dobs - war WILL create deficits... now - whether or not the war is justified is another thing all-together.
But if you want talk about a nice robust capitalist economy (in an idealist sense)... then borrowing TO MAKE money isn't a bad thing at all. That is what makes capitalism an open door for ANYONE to succeed. The option to borrow money makes it possible for people to: goto college, buy business supplies (computers - technology etc) and still lead a 'healthy' lifestyle.
Now if only everyone had the EDUCATION on how to live in a capitalistic society - then maybe we wouldn't fight so much. Capitalism is GOOD because it creates the NEED for people to work - it enforced self-reliance (something I'm very fond of)... but again - it's idealistic to think everyone is capable 'learning' how to live in a society where our work and contribution determine our lifestyle.
