I did that for our companies site just over a year ago now.. its easy, I justmade a movie clip of the block with the alpha fade and then (inside another mc put them side by side staggered along the timeline.
Halfway through the clip there is a frame where the whole page is covered, then on clicking the buttons it would tell this clip to play and you out an event on the frame where everything is covered and tell the root to go to the next image or page.
well thats what I did anyway.
