It was our first date and I already knew from our e-mail correspondence that, like most women, she loves roses. She even told me the two colors of roses that she liked.
Wanting to throw in that extra "little kiss," I picked up fourteen roses (seven of each color) at a florist.
When making reservations at a nice dinner club that I checked out previously, I asked that two of the roses be placed in a vase and be put on the table just after we were seated.
You should have seen the look of pleasant surprise on her face when the roses arrived. She knew immediately that I had done something special for her.
To top off the evening, as we went back to my car, I pulled out the other dozen roses and gave them to her. She was enthralled.
By the way, I did get a kiss for all my efforts. Actually, it was a series of tender little kisses and, yes, there was a second date, and a third date, and a, well, you get the picture...
