an extended amount of 'Ahhhhh' is the joyous 'yelp' that occurs when the outburst of laughter is so great - that it can't be stuttered by 'ha's' just yet as there is far too much force being exerted (sp?) from the lungs...
mind you - it's more scientific than that... but you get the picture.
