Sometimes you just have to kick yourself a little and realize you do have it in you.

Do you feel like you used to do stuff you enjoyed and approved of and liked when it was done? Me too, and it was probably when I was in college and had much more time on my hands, doing that ol' "gotta work on my artwork and such ferociously to show what I'm made of."

These days I work 40 hours a week, have band practice 2-3 times a week, and generally am too lazy in my off time to sit down and be productive. I feel like I can sit down and almost instantly do something great in Photoshop and then I attempt to and just fart around for two hours and get bored.

So Iguess it takes a little determination that you're really going to have to work towards things more if you really want it. I hate being a lazy person and realize it gets in the way of a great many things I know I can do and accomplish.

Anyhow, just pick up some new magazines, check out some new things, go walking, go to a park, take a sketchbook, draw out some ideas. I've started keeping a pad of paper next to me much more often when working on site concepts to get ideas down, and it helps.

I know what it's like to be frustrated and not want to do a damned thing. But can you see yourself doing anything else?

If you said "no," then you're like me, you know what you want, you just need to get your gears going.
