aight for memphis.
graceland (in the ghetto, but cool to see where elvis lived)
beale street (tons of live free music ) old school style blues)
that's the touristy shit.
+ = under $20
++ = under $50
+++ = under $100 maybe overcooper young area:
young ave deli (great beers and food and music venue : last show i was at was built to spill +)
beauty shop (great wine, very cool place +++)
doe (sushi +++ awesome)
dish (clubish tapas bar very cool design ++)
tsunami (great seafood +++)
soul fish ( ++ dinner style catfish if you want to get your southern on)
celtic crossing (lots of ass good bands+)
overton square area :
playhouse on the square (hit or miss +)
memphis pizza cafe (best pizza in town +)
golden chair ( indian resturaunt +)
P&H cafe ( weird little bar, but a cool atmoshpere, take your camera )
downtown to midtown:
STAX museum ( real memphis hood)
National Civil Rights Museum ( very cool )
Red Birds game (like 10 bucks for a great seat in a the best minor league park in the country)
Felicia Suzanne's (killer place to eat +++)
McEwen's (my personal fav +++ great wine, sit at the bar and ask will to take care of you)
Gus's Fried Chicken (classic joint, order a plate of chicken and a quart of bud +)
Earnestine and Hazel's (late night dive, packed with women on the weekends, old brothel style building +)
