1. import the artwork you want to reveal and put it on the timeline.
2. use Effect > stylize > write-on
3. change the write-on colour to something obvious that you can see. i.e. hot pink not white.
4. make a keyframe for the Brush Position. move on a few frames and make the next key frame, moving the brush position. repeat until you have traced all of the artwork.
5. change the "Paint Style" to Reveal Original Image.
Tip: you might have to multiply your artwork a few times and do this to a few layers if the artwork isn't made of a single line.
Tip: increase the Brush Size over time for that nice organic "growing" effect.
