(Apr 20 06, 09:37)OMG harlequino!!! you totally reminded me of why, how, and where I was driving when I had the most crazy accident. I was on I-35 driving from Dallas to Austin in my GFs VW JETTA!!!!!. Jeez, it WAS a VW!!! I was driving my GF at the time was in the passenger seat. We were in Hillsboro by then, no traffic, clear dry summer day, I was doing the speed limit 75-80 mph, there was a sudden rain shower and left large water spots in the highway. I hit a small spot and felt the front tires slip away from the steering then I hit a bigger spot a second later and the Jetta spin 180 and hydroplaned backwards so we faced the traffic behind us, we flew backwards onto the 75ft wide knee-high grass median and kept spinning about 3 more times, after about 150 yards of traveling out of control we saw that we were going to get hit and we braced ourselves as we shot to the other side of the highway, going backwards (thankfully) and vaulted up into oncoming traffic. luckly we just missed a semi and slammed into a compact car where a man and his daugther were driving knocking them clear off the road and narroly missing another oncoming car we stopped short of the next overpass.
In the end her car was totalled, nobody got hurt and we all walked away from that accident. But we did say more than just, "Holy Sh--- Safety Happens" it was more like "Holy Shit boy were we lucky..."
yup, the good old dayz....
