if its for viewers who are browsing randomly then forget about them waiting for a large download.
unless theres a good teaser as it loads or things look 'promising' to a viewer, then they aint going to hang about long.
fair enough if it was a big download size on a site like Nike or BMW etc - people ARE going to hang about as they know the outcome will be worth waiting for.
People deside within the first few seconds of opening a page whether they are going to hang around and whether they are interested in the site/content.
so do something to grab their attention in the loader if its a phat file you are loading in.
