the best way (not to sound sarcastic) is to actually photocopy stuff.
other than that, try to mess around with levels/threshold and get some resemblance of an effect you like. no one's going to be able to give you an exact answer...there are millions of ways to get to a solution in photoshop that will get you the same result. Your best bet is to experience...although I'm sure there are plenty more people on here that know some tricks...cheers.
