    macaso...you are not considering that employees in a company get benefits. They get insurance, time off, use of equipment, etc. Because freelancers have to pay for their own overhead (i.e., all of that mentioned) they have to mark up their hourly rates accordingly.

    If you look at the big spreadsheet in the sky you'll probably find that freelancers don't really make more than employees...and often less after the government gets through reaming us with taxes.
