Depending how you transfer for editing the best is to transfer to HDCam or something similar- many places transfer to MiniDv which is kind retarded as you end up shooting relative high res and end up with low res transfer.
HD is comparable to well transfered Super16mm. I prefer Hd as it's faster to work with plus it's way cheaper. We were shooting 1- 1.5 hour of fooatge a day. That's like $3000/day extra. Man on 30 day shoot you have to pay up about $100k extra for film stock alone.
