The great thing about Jackie, was that here was this guy who recorded with Miles Davis, and many others, and had an awful past as a junkie, and became so generous with his knowledge and experience, with endless encouragement. He and Dollie, his wife gave so much back to Hartford, CT kids with the Artist Collective, showing them the value of art and music, and showing the community an effective way of keeping kids with little financial resource off streets, out of gangs, and out of jail. He made a difference.
