i can prove you wrong on that...if i was a hot woman i could turn your head....and if that hot woman was on an ad for something, then im sure it will still turn your head.
and a designer doesn't necessarily need marketing, i believe its good if they understand the concepts of it, but you don't necessarily need the full education of it. As long as it can make you less ignorant to the elements of marketing, just like a business person should be less ignorant to what a designer does.
