allright guys, I found the problem.... turns out that theres some kind of error when using quicktime7 with AE.
The solution is to uninstall quicktime7 and get your hands on a copy of QT6.... the drawback is that iTunes wont work anymore.... douuugh!
freakin apple! I hate that iTunes & quicktime come together now.... something had to go wrong!
