yes, as you can imagine, it has been more than six months since that day and yet the incident remains fresh in my mind.
you've got a point there about the rudeness, too, jaline. last week, during my commute which is less like a commute and more like "abandoning your body bubble for expats 101", there was a forty-something man sitting in one of the seats on the train and an obviously pregnant woman was standing right next to him as he sat there.
she was being sort of buffeted about by the crowd and then had a bit of a hot flash and had a hell of a time getting her coat off without falling over. he just sat there the whole time!
but what shocked me was that, when he got up just before his station, a twenty-something girl who was standing right there as well (and who, it must be said, couldn't have not noticed the pregnant woman), snuck in and sat in his place!
i was so appalled i actually called her out on it and made her give the seat up.
